In 1996 I designed my first Utah Opera season brochure, but then left the agency where I was working and struck out on my own shortly thereafter. Three years later, the Utah Opera marketing team, frustrated with the direction of their design, tracked me down and asked me to work on the upcoming season. I continued to design for them through their merger with Utah Symphony and beyond—eight seasons total.
